Drowned Soulfire Chapter 6: The Quest
Time seemed like it didn’t matter aboard the Dutchman, almost halting to a crawl as the days continued. Things did not get easier for me as I worked as hard as any of the crew, if not harder. Day after day, I did all sorts of difficult tasks. Checking the cannons and weapons, moving heavy objects…and the pointless swabbing and cleaning for the sheer purpose of adding insult to injury. I was certainly kept busy. Crewmen sometimes sought me out to antagonize me whether I was working or not. I tried to always deescalate the situation, but it always ended with me receiving emotional and physical bruises. Constantly, I was pushed around and taunted at. I was never seen as an equal amongst the cursed men. Anytime I made the tiniest mistake or did not work fast enough, the Bo’sun wasted no time to strike his whip against me. Each of its stings threatened to peel the flesh off my very bones. Old scars had no time to heal as new wounds were carved. Almost every day ended in agony. Although

Drowned Soulfire Chapter 5: The Talk
I was already used to being in my chains and bound on the deck. Still in dragon form, I laid curled in a ball with my tail and limbs tucked towards my body as much as possible. My head rested against the cold and wet deck. My white fur stained with my own blood in some spots. I felt sore almost everywhere. My future was bleak and hopeless. The accursed bond Jones had on my soul was strong, as he said. Against all this, I was not going to fully give up my soul. Losing myself to the Flying Dutchman would be a fate worse than death. I would rather die as a prisoner than live an eternity as a crew member on this ship of the damned. Even then, I feared that Jones would not give the mercy of my eternal reward. He needed me alive. He wanted me to suffer. As the days passed, I laid motionless in broken defeat. Every so often, crewmen would pass by to throw their taunts and jeers at me. “Filthy worm!” I heard one cackle maliciously.

Drowned Soulfire Chapter 4: The Escape
It was deathly still aboard the Dutchman on this lonely night. Aside from the softly crashing waves and the groans of the hull, silence filled the air as the ship sailed aimlessly through the never-ending seas. Clouds blanketed the sky above, blocking the moon and starlight. Everything around me felt so…hollow. Unable to sleep for the night, I carefully made my way to the above deck. I stepped around and over sleeping crewmen, careful to not wake them up. I also made extra sure that the floorboards did not creak underneath my boots. It was odd that most of them slept on the floor, but who was I to judge? Not seeing Jones anywhere, I figured he settled in his cabin for the night. I prayed it stayed like that for the rest of the evening. Finally able to sneak past everyone, I stood at the front of the ship near the bow. I looked up to watch the tattered, seaweed covered tails flap in the calm winds. I could not believe that this was my first day aboard this

“Silent!” I was jolted awake to hear the aggressive voice of Jones. He stood right in front of me, disappointed that he had to come find me and wake me up. Startled by this, I quickly stumbled back on my feet. I stood at attention. “S-Sir! Oh, I mean…Sir-...wait, no! Captain!” I greeted, fumbling over my own words. It was not the best first impression. Jones, my new captain, scowled at my nervousness. To see me in such a trembling, anxious mess certainly did not amuse him. He just narrowed his eyes at me with disdain and sighed heavily. “Come. We begin your training now-uh.” He made a sharp turn and immediately began to walk away, expecting me to follow him. Although I did hesitate for a split second, I did follow behind him without question. Like before, I kept a safe distance away from him. I was more than uncomfortable around this gruesome captain. I did not want to get too close. Sensing my apprehension, Jones stopped.

Drowned Soulfire Ch. 2: The Imprisonment
Slowly, but surely, I woke up…but a part of me wish I didn’t. Once again, my head pounding in pain from being knocked unconscious for a second time. As my eyes fluttered opened, I waited for my vision to return. Once it did, I sat up and looked around at my new surroundings. Unsurprisingly, I found myself in the brig of an old ship. It was cold, damp, and dimly lit with rusted lanterns. The bars of my cell were just as rusted, but they remained firm. What struck me as odd was that every inch of this ship was covered in marine fauna. From the walls, floors, and even the ceiling, a lot of the ship was covered in things like coral, barnacles, algae, seaweed, and much more. It did not take me long to realize that this was the cursed ship of Davy Jones. Carefully, I rose to my feet as I assessed my current situation. It certainly did not look good at all. Who knows what these savage monsters had planned for me! As I paced back and forth in my cell, I quietly

Drowned Soulfire Ch. 1: The Arrival
I was always told that the sea was a treacherous place, but I never believed in that. I was a strong, independent woman. At age 31, I felt like I’ve seen everything in my life and travels. I certainly was not pushover, that is for sure. I knew that I needed to be capable of defending myself against any threats. I needed to always stay strong. Then again, this was easy for me. Nothing frightened me. During my journey home, I stumbled upon a wrecked ship as it leaned against some sea rocks. It was a dark and stormy night, rain poured from the heavens seemingly nonstop. Being the curious soul, I approached the scuttled vessel. When I saw movement, my curiosity turned to concern. Once I got aboard this mostly destroyed ship, I noticed a few surviving sailors here and there. All of them looked like they’d seen hell, all of them bleeding badly and all trembling with fright. I also noticed a few corpses scattered here and there across the
